Japanese Pickled Cauliflower Coca-cola Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c Onion, finely sliced 2 tb Parsley, minced
  • 1/2 c COCA-COLA Or rice, cooked & hot
  • 3 tb Flour 1 tb Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cl Garlic, minced Mashed potatoes, noodles,
  • 1 1/2 lb Chuck steak or round 2 tb Flour
  • 2 tb Oil or shortening 1 c Sour cream
  • Steak, boneless 1/2 c Water
  • 1/4 c Water
  • 1 ts Salt 1 cn Mushrooms with liquid

Directions
  • Step #1 Cut beef into 1/2-inch strips; put in a plastic bag with 3 tbsps of flour & the salt.
  • Step #2 Shake until the meat is evenly coated.
  • Step #3 In a heavy skillet or Dutch oven, add the meat strips & brown slowly, heat oil/shortening, stirring often.
  • Step #4 Add onion, garlic, Coca-Cola, & 1/4 c of water; mix well.
  • Step #5 Cover & let simmer 30 to 45 mins or until the meat is fork-tender.
  • Step #6 In a bowl, mix the 2 tbsps of flour with the 1/2 c of water until smooth.
  • Step #7 stir in theto the meat along with the Worcestershire sauce & the undrained mushrooms.
  • Step #8 Stir & cook this until thickened, 2 to 3 mins.
  • Step #9 (If making ahead for reheating later, do not add the sour cream now.
  • Step #10 Reheat, then complete the recipe directions.
  • Step #11 ) stir in the the sour cream & heat carefully just until the gravy simmers.
  • Step #12 Sprinkle top with parsley & serve over potatoes, noodles, or rice.
