Chewy Chocolate-orange Bars Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 ts Baking powder Substitute
  • 1 ts Baking soda 1 c Nonfat palin yogurt
  • 1 c Plus 2 tbsps light 1 ts Vanilla
  • 2 c Cake flour 1/4 c Thawed, frozen egg
  • 1/2 ts Salt 1/2 c Applesauce
  • Brown sugar, packed 3 c Coarsely sliced rhubarb

Directions
  • Step #1 Rhubarb with its uniquely tangy taste, is a favorite spring fruit of many midwestern & east coast transplants.
  • Step #2 Just stir sliced uncooked rhubarb into the coffeecake batter & bake.
  • Step #3 (By Times Food Stylists) Sift together cake flour, baking soda, baking powder, & salt into large bowl.
  • Step #4 stir in the c brown sugar.
  • Step #5 Place egg substitue in bowl.
  • Step #6 stir in the yogurt, applesauce & vanilla.
  • Step #7 stir in theto flour mixture just until ingredients are almost mixed.
  • Step #8 Quickly stir in the rhubarb just until mixed.
  • Step #9 Turn into 9-inch-square pan sprayed with non-stick vegetable spray or lined with parchment paper.
  • Step #10 Sprinkle top top evenly with remaining 2 tbsps sugar.
  • Step #11 bake this at 350 degrees F.
  • Step #12 30 to 35 mins or until cake tests done in center.
