Ingredients
  • 1/4 c Baking Powder 1 1/2 ts Salt
  • 8 c Cake Flour 6 c Sugar
  • 2 1/2 c Vegetable Shortening

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large bowl, sugar, sift together cake flour, baking powder & salt.
  • Step #2 Mix well With a pastry mixer, cut in shortening until the mixture is as fine as cornmeal.
  • Step #3 Put in a large airtight container.
  • Step #4 Label as Basic Cake Mix & store this in a cool dry place.
  • Step #5 Use with 10 to 12 weeks.
  • Step #6 Makes about 16 c of mix.
