Ingredients
  • 1/4 c Brown sugar Hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 c Chicken broth
  • 1/2 c Dark soy sauce Oyster sauce
  • 6 Eggs 1 ts Sesame oil

Directions
  • Step #1 In a pot, cover the eggs with cold water; bring to a boil, then simmer 15 mins.
  • Step #2 remove this from heat, cool the eggs under cold running water, and shell them.
  • Step #3 In a pan, mix the brown sugar, soy sauce, chicken broth, & sesame oil.
  • Step #4 Heat the mixture, stirring to dissolve the brown sugar.
  • Step #5 Add the eggs.
  • Step #6 Simmer, covered for 1 hr.
  • Step #7 The liquid should cover the eggs, but if it does not, baste frequently.
  • Step #8 Turn off the heat & let the eggs stand in the another hr, turning them from time to time, to ensure even coloring.
  • Step #9 Serve cut into halves or quarters, with dipping sauce.
  • Step #10 Makes 6 to 8 appetizer servings.
  • Step #11 DIPPING SAUCE: In bowl, mix equal parts of the hoisin sauce & oyster sauce.
