24 Hour Dip Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 lg Head of cabbage
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 c Salad oil
  • 1 c Sugar
  • 1 c Vinegar
  • 1 ts Salt
  • 1 ts Celery seed
  • 1 ts Dry mustard
  • 1 tb Sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Shred cabbage, onion, & carrot fine.
  • Step #2 In a bowl, alternate layers of cabbage, onion, & carrot.
  • Step #3 Cover with 1 c sugar.
  • Step #4 Bring to a rolling boil, salt, dry mustard, celery seed, salad oil, vinegar, and sugar.
  • Step #5 Pour rapidly boiling mixture over cabbage very slowly.
  • Step #6 put in the fridge for 24 hrs.
  • Step #7 You might also add green bell pepper and/or a rib of celery thinly sliced.
  • Step #8 When ready to serve, stir well.
  • Step #9 This keeps well & gets better each day.
