Ada's Molasses Nut Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 ts ALMOND EXTRACT
  • 1/4 ts VANILLA EXTRACT
  • 3/4 ts BAKING POWDER
  • 6 tb SUGAR
  • 1/2 c SIFTED CAKE FLOUR
  • 3 EGGS, SEPARATED
  • 1/4 ts SALT

Directions
  • Step #1 preheat your trusty oven to 350 f.
  • Step #2 Sift together flour, baking powder, & salt.
  • Step #3 Beat egg yolks in a small bowl, rapidly, until very thick & lemon colored, adding almond & vanilla flavorings during the beating.
  • Step #4 With clean beaters, beat the egg whites until stiff & shiny; begin to add sugar, not more than 1 tbsp at a time, & beat constantly.
  • Step #5 Continue to beat rapidly until whites are very stiff and glossy.
  • Step #6 carefully fold in the beaten egg yolks.
  • Step #7 In the same manner fold in the dry ingredients until well mixed.
  • Step #8 Using a small spatula & a measuring tbsp, measure & droop onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  • Step #9 Bake for 10 mins until light & golden brown.
  • Step #10 Remove at once from sheet to cool.
