Chocolate Texas Sheet Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 c sugar
  • 5 tbsps milk
  • 1/4 c baking cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 3/4 c confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 c baking cocoa
  • 1/2 c butter, softened
  • 1/2 c sour cream
  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 c butter, cubed
  • FROSTING:
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 c water
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large saucepan, bring the butter, water & cocoa to a boil.
  • Step #2 Remove from the heat.
  • Step #3 Combine the flour, sugar, baking soda & salt; stir in theto butter mixture.
  • Step #4 Combine the eggs & sour cream; stir in theto butter mixture until mixed.
  • Step #5 Pour into a greased 15-in.
  • Step #6 x 10-in.
  • Step #7 x 1-in.
  • Step #8 baking pan.
  • Step #9 Bake at 350 degrees F for 18-25 mins or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  • Step #10 Cool on a wire rack.
  • Step #11 For frosting, in a large mixing bowl, cream the butter & confectioners' sugar.
  • Step #12 Add cocoa, vanilla & enough milk to achieve desired consistency.
  • Step #13 Spread over cake.
