Keebler Soft Batch Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 c Vegetable shortening
  • 1 c Pecans -- shelled
  • 1 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1/4 ts Baking soda
  • 2 tb Water
  • 4 c All-purpose flour
  • 3/4 c Granulated sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 1.
  • Step #2 Preheat the oven to 325F degrees.
  • Step #3 2.
  • Step #4 In a large bowl, sugar, cream together the shortening, & salt with an electric mixer on medium speed.
  • Step #5 3.
  • Step #6 Add the eggs & beat well.
  • Step #7 4.
  • Step #8 While mixing, baking soda, slowly add the flour, & water.
  • Step #9 5.
  • Step #10 Chop the pecans into very small bits using a food processor/blender or mixer on lowish speed.
  • Step #11 Be careful not to overchop; you don't want to make pecan dust.
  • Step #12 The pieces should be about the size of rice grains.
  • Step #13 6.
  • Step #14 Add the pecans to the dough & knead with your hands until the pecans are well mixed into the mixture.
  • Step #15 7.
  • Step #16 Roll the dough into 1-inch balls & press flat with your hands onto greased baking sheets.
  • Step #17 The cookies should be about 2 inches in diameter & 1/2-inch thick.
  • Step #18 8.
  • Step #19 Bake for 25 to 30 mins or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown.
