Kick-off Nachos Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 tb Tomato sauce
  • 5 cl Garlic; coarsely sliced
  • 1 ts Dried basil
  • 4 oz Grated gruyere
  • 4 oz Grated romano
  • 4 oz Grated mozarella
  • 1 ts Fennel seeds
  • 1 tb Olive oil
  • 1 Pre-made 12" pie crust
  • 1 ts Dried oregano
  • 4 oz Ground Italian sausage

Directions
  • Step #1 preheat your trusty oven to 450 degrees.
  • Step #2 Heat oil in a skillet over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #3 Saute garlic until soft, 3-4 mins.
  • Step #4 Remove the pan from the heat, fennel, & stir in the the tomato sauce, oregano & basil.
  • Step #5 Spread over the pizza crust, adding more tomato sauce if needed to cover.
  • Step #6 Break up the sausage into peanut-sized pieces & add a couple of fennel seeds to each.
  • Step #7 Wipe out the skillet & saute the sausage over med-heat/flame until nearly cooked, 6 - 8 mins.
  • Step #8 Scatter over pizza.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top on grated cheeses, all the way to the edge.
  • Step #10 bake this at 8 to 12 mins, until cheese is melted and crust browned.
  • Step #11 Per serving: 423 cal; 22g pro, 24g fat(50%), 64 mg chol, 28g carb, 945mg sodium.
