Kiszka - Polish Kiska Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 c Flaked coconut
  • 1 ts Unsweetened dry cherry- flavor drink mix
  • 1/2 ts Almond extract
  • 3/4 c Sugar
  • 16 Chocolate candy kisses
  • 2 c Popped popcorn, finely crushed in mixer or food process 1 tb All-purpose flour
  • 2 Egg whites, at room temp.
  • 1/8 ts Salt

Directions
  • Step #1 From Orville Redenbacher Popcorn.
  • Step #2 preheat your trusty oven to 300'F.
  • Step #3 Lightly grease a large baking sheet.
  • Step #4 In medium bowl, beat egg whites with salt until soft peaks form.
  • Step #5 slowly add sugar, beating continuously, until stiff peaks form.
  • Step #6 By hand, fold in remaining ingredients, except candy kisses, just until all ingredients are moistened.
  • Step #7 Drop by rounded tbsps, 2" apart, on baking sheet.
  • Step #8 bake this at 300'F.
  • Step #9 for 7 mins or until set.
  • Step #10 remove this from oven & as soon as possible carefully press a candy kiss in center of each cookie.
  • Step #11 Return to oven & bake an extra 8 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step #12 Cool on cookie sheet for 1 min, then remove to wire racks to cool.
  • Step #13 Makes 16 cookies.
