Chicago Deep Dish Pizza With Mushrooms, Peppers, And Onions Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 recipe Deep-Dish Pizza Dough
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 1/2 c canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 1/4 c shredded reduced-fat Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 1/2 c sliced green pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 c shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 1/2 c sliced onion
  • 2 1/2 c sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tsps dried oregano

Directions
  • Step #1 Prepare Deep-Dish Pizza Dough, & set aside.
  • Step #2 Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #3 Add pepper, & garlic, onion, & saute 5 mins.
  • Step #4 Add mushrooms, oregano, & salt; saute 3 mins or until tender.
  • Step #5 Remove from heat; cool.
  • Step #6 Spread half of tomatoes over each prepared crust, & top each with half of vegetable mixture.
  • Step #7 Sprinkle top Monterey Jack cheese & provolone cheese evenly over pizzas.
  • Step #8 Bake at 475 degrees for 15 mins.
  • Step #9 Reduce oven temperature to 375 degrees, & bake 15 extra mins.
  • Step #10 Cut each pizza into 8 wedges.
