Step #1 Begin with: 1 c flour,1 c warm water,1/2 c sugar 1 package yeast.
Step #2 Add on 5th day: 1 c flour,1 c milk, 1 c sugar.
Step #3 Add on 10th day: 1 c flour,1 c milk,1 c sugar.
Step #4 1: Mix all the starter ingredients well & place this in medium-sized glass bowl.
Step #5 Cover with dinner plate so as not to cover tightly.
Step #6 Let stand overnight in warm place.
Step #7 Stir down each day for 4 days (Important - do not put in the fridge batter at any time) 2: On the fifth day add flour, milk & sugar & stir.
Step #8 Stir down each day until 10th day.
Step #9 3: On the 10th day add flour, milk & sugar & measure out 3 separate c of starter.
Step #10 Give one c starter & a copy of the instructions to each of three friends.
Step #11 4: Use remaining dough to bake choice of bread or use in streusel recipe as follows: Batter: 2/3 c cooking oil, flour, sugar, 2 tsps baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt, 2 c flour, baking soda, 1 c sugar, melted 1/2 c white sugar 1/2 c brown sugar 1/2 c quick oats 1 c nuts (optional 1: After sharing three c of starter with friends, mix oil, 3 eggs Streusel: 1/3 c margarine, salt & eggs with remaining starter.
Step #12 Mix well & spoon 1/2 of batter into greased and floured 9 x 13 baking pan.
Step #13 2: To prepare streusel mix all ingredients & mix well.
Step #14 Sprinkle top 1/2 of streusel over batter.
Step #15 Cover with remaining batter and remaining streusel.
Step #16 3: bake this at 350 degrees for 35-40 mins.
