Apple Cider Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • Pared -- cored
  • Diagonally
  • 2 c Small fresh mushrooms
  • 1 Green pepper -- in small
  • 2 tb Oil
  • Squares
  • 2 c Apple cider
  • 3 Potatoes, pared -- cubed
  • Wedges
  • 1/2 Head cabbage -- in wedges
  • 2 Cloves garlic -- minced
  • 3 Golden Delicious apples
  • 1/4 c Flour
  • 1/2 c Water
  • Cut in wedges
  • 4 Carrots,sliced --
  • 1 ts Kitchen Bouquet
  • Pork roast
  • 3 Onions, peeled -- cut in
  • 2 1/4 ts Salt
  • 1/2 ts Pepper
  • 1 3 lb
  • 2 Bay leaves

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat oil in dutch oven & brown pork on all sides.
  • Step #2 Pour off the fat.
  • Step #3 add cider,garlic, salt, onions, pepper & bay leaves.
  • Step #4 Bring to boil, then cover & reduce heat.
  • Step #5 Cook for 1 1/2 hrs, until meat is tender.
  • Step #6 Add carrots & potatoes & cook 15 mins more.
  • Step #7 Add cabbage, mushrooms, green pepper & apples.
  • Step #8 cook this until all vegetables are tender 15-2- mins.
  • Step #9 Remove meat & vegetables to a warm dish & keep warm while you make the gravy.
  • Step #10 Discard the bay leaves.
  • Step #11 Skim off the fat from the liquid.
  • Step #12 Reserve 1 3/4 c of liquid.
  • Step #13 (add water if need to make up difference).
  • Step #14 mix cold water with flour & stir in theto hot reserved liquid.
  • Step #15 cook this until thickened.
  • Step #16 stir in the Kitchen Bouquet.
  • Step #17 Adjust Spice uping to taste.
