Apple Muffins (no Fat) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tb Apple pie spice
  • 1 1/2 c Multigrain oatmeal
  • 3/4 c All-purpose flour
  • 1 tb Baking powder
  • 1 c Whole wheat flour
  • 1 c Packed brown sugar
  • Granulated sugar
  • 3 Slightly beaten egg whites
  • 1/2 ts Baking soda
  • 1 1/2 c sliced apple
  • 1 1/4 c Skim milk
  • 1/3 c Toasted wheat germ
  • 1/3 c Cooking oil
  • 1/2 ts Salt

Directions
  • Step #1 In a mixing bowl, mix all of the dry ingredients (except granulated sugar).
  • Step #2 Add the sliced apple & stir this to coat with the dry ingredients.
  • Step #3 Add the remaining ingredients (except granulated sugar) & stir just until moistened.
  • Step #4 Spray 12 muffin tins with cooking spray (or use papers).
  • Step #5 Spoon the batter in to the tins, filling them full.
  • Step #6 Sprinkle top muffin tops with a little granulated sugar.
  • Step #7 Bake in a 400F degree oven for 18 to 20 mins or until done.
