Apple Up & Down Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/8 ts Salt
  • 1/4 ts Cinnamon
  • 1/4 ts Salt
  • 2 c Sifted whole wheat flour
  • 3 tb Flour
  • 1/2 c sliced apples
  • 1/2 c Butter
  • 1/8 ts Cloves
  • 1/2 tb Lemon juice
  • 1/3 c Brown sugar
  • 1 tb Honey
  • 4 oz Cream cheese, soft

Directions
  • Step #1 Cream butter, honey, & cream cheese until smooth & creamy.
  • Step #2 Sift together flour, honey & salt.
  • Step #3 Work into creamed mixture with a pastry cutter until completely mixed in.
  • Step #4 Form into a ball; wrap in plastic wrap & chill several hrs.
  • Step #5 preheat your trusty oven to 425F degrees.
  • Step #6 mix apples, flour, brown sugar, lemon juice & spices.
  • Step #7 Roll pastry 1/8" thick; cut into 4 squares.
  • Step #8 Place one fourth of apple filling on each square.
  • Step #9 Fold in half diagonally & press edges with tines of fork to seal.
  • Step #10 Slit pastry with sharp knife.
  • Step #11 Place on ungreased cookie sheet & bake 20-25 mins.
