Lazy Perogi Casserole Recipe

Ingredients
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 ts Dry thyme
  • 12 lb Turkey
  • 1 ts Dry sage
  • 1 ts Dry rosemary
  • 1 md Onion

Directions
  • Step #1 8-14 lb Remove giblets & neck from turkey; set aside.
  • Step #2 Rinse & drain turkey.
  • Step #3 Pat dry.
  • Step #4 Use a covered roasting pan that just fits the bird.
  • Step #5 Cut onion in half & place this inside turkey.
  • Step #6 mix herbs & make a paste with a little fat.
  • Step #7 Spread on outside of turkey & press into skin.
  • Step #8 Tie legs together.
  • Step #9 Pour 1/2 inch water into pan & cover with lid.
  • Step #10 Place pan in a 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hrs or til meat thermometer registers 185.
  • Step #11 Uncover for last 10 mins to brown if desired.
  • Step #12 remove this from oven & let sit for 15 mins before carving.
  • Step #13 Drain liquid into a pot & return turkey to a warm oven til ready to carve(after standing 15 mins).
