Lemon Dessert Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 c Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • 1 ts Grated Lemon Peel
  • 1 ea Env. Unflovored Gelatin
  • 1/2 c Margarine, Melted
  • 1/3 c Lemon Juice
  • 1/3 c Cold Water
  • 1/4 c Sugar
  • 3 ea Large Eggs, Separated
  • 1/2 c Sugar
  • 16 oz Cream Cheese, Softened

Directions
  • Step #1 Or use 2 8-oz containers of Philly soft cream cheese.
  • Step #2 --- ------------------- mix crumbs, sugar & margarine; reserve 1/2 c.
  • Step #3 Press remaining onto bottom of 9-inch springform pan.
  • Step #4 Soften gelatine in water, stir over low heat/flame until dissolved.
  • Step #5 Add juice, 1/4 c sugar, over medium heat, egg yolks, stirring constantly, & peel; cook, 5 mins.
  • Step #6 slowly add to cream cheese, mixing at medium speed on electric mixer unitl well mixed.
  • Step #7 Beat egg whites, until foamy; slowly add in the remaining sugar beating until stiff peaks form.
  • Step #8 Fold into cream cheese mixture; pour over crust.
  • Step #9 top this with reserved crumbs; chill until firm.
