Church Supper Hot Dish Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 (10.75 oz) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 1/4 c finely sliced onion
  • 2 tbsps butter
  • 1 c water
  • 1/4 c finely sliced green pepper
  • 2 c finely sliced celery
  • 1 c shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (5 oz) can chow mein noodles
  • 3/4 c finely sliced carrots
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 c sliced peeled potatoes

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large skillet, cook beef over med-heat/flame until no longer pink; drain & set aside.
  • Step #2 In a large saucepan or another skillet, celery, saute the potatoes, carrots, green pepper & onion in butter for 5 mins.
  • Step #3 Add water; cover & let simmer for 10 mins.
  • Step #4 Add soup & cooked ground beef; mix well.
  • Step #5 Sprinkle top half of the chow mein noodles into a greased shallow 2-qt.
  • Step #6 baking dish.
  • Step #7 Spoon meat mixture over noodles.
  • Step #8 Cover & bake this at 350 degrees F for 20 mins.
  • Step #9 Top with the cheese & remaining noodles.
  • Step #10 Bake, uncovered, 10 mins longer or until heated through.
