Step #1 Process onion, garlic, pepper, ginger chile, turmeric, salt & 1/4 c coconut milk to a smooth paste.
Step #2 Put the rest of the coconut milk in a pan with the spice paste & bring to a boil over moderate heat.
Step #3 Add salam, over low heat/flame for 30 to 40 mins, chicken & peanuts & continue to cook, basing frequently, laos, uncovered, until almost all the liquid has evaporated.
Step #4 Serve warm.
