Ayam Masak Aceh (butterfly Cornish Game Hen) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 Or 5 fresh, hot red chiles, seeded, sliced
  • 1/3 c Dry roasted peanuts
  • 1 Salam leaf
  • 1 chicken, cut into 8 pieces, discard loose skin & fat
  • 1/8 ts Ground pepper
  • 1 ts Salt or to taste
  • 1/2 Piece fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1/8 ts Turmeric
  • 1 sl Laos
  • 1 md Onions, sliced
  • 2 Garlic cloves, sliced
  • 2 c Coconut milk

Directions
  • Step #1 Process onion, garlic, pepper, ginger chile, turmeric, salt & 1/4 c coconut milk to a smooth paste.
  • Step #2 Put the rest of the coconut milk in a pan with the spice paste & bring to a boil over moderate heat.
  • Step #3 Add salam, over low heat/flame for 30 to 40 mins, chicken & peanuts & continue to cook, basing frequently, laos, uncovered, until almost all the liquid has evaporated.
  • Step #4 Serve warm.
  • Step #5 Serves 6.
