Lemon-cream Cheese Pound Cake (gxdb48a) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 c Sugar
  • 1 tb Lemon juice
  • 2 3/4 c Flour
  • 1 1/4 c Butter or margarine;softened
  • 1/8 ts Salt
  • 2 ts Vanilla
  • 8 oz Cream cheese; softened
  • 1/2 ts Orange extract
  • ----CAKE-------
  • 1 ts Lemon extract
  • 6 Eggs

Directions
  • Step #1 LEMON GLAZE--- 1 c Powdered sugar 1 tb Butter or margarine;softened 2 ts Lemon peel; grated 2 tb Lemon juice (2-3 T) (or 3 c Softasilk cake flour) Heat oven to 325-degrees.
  • Step #2 Grease & flour tube pan, 10x4 inches, or 12-c bundt cake pan.
  • Step #3 Beat sugar, margarine & cream cheese in large bowl until fluffy.
  • Step #4 Beat in lemon juice, lemon extract, vanilla, orange extract and salt.
  • Step #5 Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
  • Step #6 Add flour; beat until smooth.
  • Step #7 Spread in pan.
  • Step #8 Bake about 1-1/2 hrs or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Step #9 Cool 10 mins; remove from pan.
  • Step #10 Cool completely.
  • Step #11 Spread Lemon Glaze over cake, allowing some to drizzle down side.
  • Step #12 GLAZE: Mix all ingredients until smooth.
