Linda's Nut Candies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 ts Oregano Salt & pepper to taste stock or veg water
  • 2 1/4 oz Packet TVP mince
  • 2 cl Garlic; crushed
  • 1 lg Onion; sliced
  • 4 tb Olive oil
  • 3 ea 16 oz cans sliced tomatoes
  • 12 ea Strips lasagne; to 15
  • 1 c Cheddar; grated
  • 1 c Cottage cheese

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven 350.
  • Step #2 Place lasagne strips in saucepan, cover with water, & boil for a few mins until they are starting to soften.
  • Step #3 Heat the oil in a large saucepan & saute the onion & garlic.
  • Step #4 Add the TVP mince, sliced tomatoes with their juice, oregano, salt and pepper.
  • Step #5 Simmer 20-30 mins, adding a little stock or water if necessary to make a moist sauce.
  • Step #6 remove this from heat.
  • Step #7 Pour a layer of tomato sauce in a deep, large baking dish.
  • Step #8 Spoon a layer of cottage cheese over the sauce, then arrange a layer of lasagne over that, followed by a layer of grated cheddar.
  • Step #9 Repeat this layering process until you are about 1 1/2 inches away from the top of the baking dish.
  • Step #10 Finish with a layer of tomato sauce topped by a final layer of cheddar cheese.
  • Step #11 Bake the lasagne 30 mins, until the cheese is brown & bubbly.
  • Step #12 Good.
