Country Apple Coffee Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/3 c packed brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 tsp milk
  • GLAZE:
  • 1/3 c corn syrup
  • 1/2 c sliced pecans
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 c confectioners' sugar
  • 1 (12 oz) package put in the fridged buttermilk biscuits
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 medium tart apples, peeled & sliced
  • 1 egg

Directions
  • Step #1 Place 1-1/2 c apples in a greased 9-in.
  • Step #2 round baking pan.
  • Step #3 Separate biscuits into 10 pieces; cut each biscuit into quarters.
  • Step #4 Place over apples with point side up.
  • Step #5 Top with remaining apples.
  • Step #6 In a mixing bowl, mix egg, corn syrup, brown sugar, butter & cinnamon.
  • Step #7 Stir in pecans.
  • Step #8 Spoon over apples.
  • Step #9 Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-35 mins or until biscuits are browned.
  • Step #10 For glaze, mix confectioners' sugar, vanilla & enough milk to achieve desired consistency.
  • Step #11 Drizzle over warm coffee cake.
  • Step #12 Serve as soon as possible.
