Ingredients
2 c sour cream
1/3 c finely sliced onion
1 c butter
2 tsps salt
1/2 c heavy cream
2 c chicken broth
2 eggs
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1/4 c sliced fresh dill
1/2 lb ground veal
1 c dry bread crumbs
1/4 c all-purpose flour
Directions
Step #1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Step #2 In a large bowl, veal, pork, pepper, salt, eggs, mix beef, onion & heavy cream.
Step #3 With moistened hands, shape the mixture into 1 inch balls.
Step #4 Roll the balls in the bread crumbs until all balls are well coated.
Step #5 Arrange in a single layer on a large, shallow baking sheet.
Step #6 Melt 1/2 c butter in a large saucepan over low heat/flame.
Step #7 Stir in the flour.
Step #8 Gradually stir in the the chicken broth.
Step #9 Continue stirring until thickened & bubbly, then mix in the sour cream & fresh dill.
Step #10 Melt remaining butter in a small saucepan, & drizzle over the meatballs.
Step #11 Bake meatballs in the preheated oven 35 mins, turning every once in awhile, until evenly browned.
Step #12 Place meatballs in a chafing dish & cover with the sauce to serve.
