Lo Mein Noodles With Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 c Chinese cabbage; shredded
  • 1/2 ts MSG;
  • 2 Scallions; cut in matches
  • 2 oz Raw chicken, in small pieces of any shape
  • 1 ts Oil
  • 2 oz Raw lean pork; in match sticks
  • 2 oz Raw lean beef, in match book-cover sized pieces
  • 1 ts Sesame oil
  • 2 tb Soy sauce
  • 1/4 lb Raw bean sprouts
  • 4 tb Oil
  • 2 oz Mushrooms; sliced button or reconstituted Chinese
  • 1/2 lb Chinese egg noodles;
  • 2 oz Raw shelled shrimp
  • 1 ts Salt
  • 2 ts Cornstarch
  • 2 ts Dry sherry

Directions
  • Step #1 Bring a lot of water to the boil.
  • Step #2 Dump noodles in; turn heat to low.
  • Step #3 Cook 3 mins.
  • Step #4 Drain, toss with sesame oil & regular oil, set aside.
  • Step #5 In 4 separate dishes, mix each of the meats with 1/2 t sherry and 1/2 t cornstarch.
  • Step #6 Heat the 4 T oil in a skillet or wok to high.
  • Step #7 Add meats in this order, chicken, beef, stirring for a few seconds between each addition: pork, shrimp.
  • Step #8 As soon as you've added & tossed the shrimp, add the mushrooms & cabbage.
  • Step #9 cook this until cabbage is wilted.
  • Step #10 Add scallions, soy, salt, & MSG.
  • Step #11 Stir.
  • Step #12 Add the noodles & the bean sprouts, and stir-cook for 3 min.
  • Step #13 Serve hot on a warm platter.
