Backyard's Jalapeno Cheese Grits Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c Whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 c Shredded coconut
  • 1 c Butter
  • 1/2 c sliced dried apricots
  • 1 c White flour
  • 1 c Chocolate chips
  • 4 ts Grated orange peel
  • 1 c Quick cooking oats
  • 1 1/2 c Brown sugar
  • 4 Eggs -- lightly beaten
  • 1/2 c Wheat germ
  • 2 c Whole almonds
  • 1/2 c sliced dates

Directions
  • Step #1 preheat your trusty oven to 350.
  • Step #2 Cream butter with 1 c brown sugar.
  • Step #3 stir in the oats, white flour, wheat flour, wheat germ, & orange peel.
  • Step #4 Press mixture into bottom of an ungreased 9 x13-inch baking pan.
  • Step #5 mix eggs, almonds, chocolate chips, dates, apricots, coconut and remaining 1/2 c.
  • Step #6 brown sugar.
  • Step #7 Mix carefully, but thoroughly.
  • Step #8 Pour over butter mixture.
  • Step #9 Spread evenly.
  • Step #10 Bake 30-35 mins & cool before cutting into bars.
