Baked Squid With Garlic-anchovy Pasta - F&w 1 Recipe

Ingredients
  • Salt
  • 1 ts Anchovy paste
  • 1 tb Unsalted butter
  • 2 tb Olive oil
  • 1/2 lb Dried capellini
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • 1 ts Freshly ground pepper
  • 1 lg Clove garlic; minced
  • 1 ts Oregano; crumbled
  • 1/2 c Olive oil
  • 1 1/2 lb Small squid; cleaned, bodies sliced into 1/4-inch rings, tentacles halved if large
  • 1 c Plain dried bread crumbs

Directions
  • Step #1 : Preheat the oven to 450F.
  • Step #2 Bring a large saucepan of water to a boil.
  • Step #3 In a large bowl, pepper, oregano, toss the squid with the breadcrumbs, & one tsp salt.
  • Step #4 Spread the squid in a large baking dish in a single layer & Sprinkle top with any leftover crumbs.
  • Step #5 Drizzle 1/4 c plus 2 tbsps of the olive oil on top.
  • Step #6 Bake for 10 mins, or until the squid is golden brown & crunchy.
  • Step #7 : Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, whisk the garlic & the anchovy paste into the remaining 1/4 c oil & bring to a simmer over low heat.
  • Step #8 Cook, until fragrant but not browned, whisking, about 3 mins.
  • Step #9 : Add salt to the boiling water.
  • Step #10 Add the capellini and cook, stirring every once in awhile, until al dente, about 3 mins.
  • Step #11 Drain the pasta & return it to the saucepan.
  • Step #12 Add the anchovy sauce and the butter & toss to coat.
  • Step #13 : Make a bed of capellini on a platter or plates.
  • Step #14 Mound the baked squid on the pasta & serve this with lemon wedges.
