Baker's Square French Silk Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 ts Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 c Flour
  • 1 c Butter; unsalted
  • 1 c Sugar
  • 1/2 ts Baking soda
  • 1 tb Vanilla

Directions
  • Step #1 ---ICING------ 1 c Confectioners' sugar; sifted 2 tb Milk Multicolored nonpareils 1.
  • Step #2 Beat the butter & sugar until light & fluffy.
  • Step #3 mix in the eggs & vanilla; mix well.
  • Step #4 stir this together the flour, salt & baking soda; mix into the sugar mixture until well mixed.
  • Step #5 Chill for 2 hrs.
  • Step #6 2.
  • Step #7 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #8 3.
  • Step #9 Divide the dough into quarters.
  • Step #10 Roll out one quarter on a lightly floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness.
  • Step #11 Cut into heart shapes with a 2-inch cutter; place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Step #12 4.
  • Step #13 Bake for 5 to 8 mins or until the cookies are barely browned at the edges.
  • Step #14 Cool on a wire rack.
  • Step #15 Icing 5.
  • Step #16 Mix together the confectioners' sugar & milk until smooth.
  • Step #17 Spread on the cookies; Sprinkle top with the nonpareils.
