Bamee Haeng (spicy Egg Noodles) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1 tb Vegetable Oil
  • 3 Bacon; Strips, Thick Sliced
  • 1/2 lb Pork; Lean, Cubed
  • 1 lb Cabbage; Head, Small
  • 1 ts Vegetable Oil
  • 1 ts Caraway Seeds
  • 2 Onions; Medium, sliced
  • 1 lb Ground Beef; Lean
  • 1/2 c White Wine; Dry
  • 1/2 ts Pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 Remove outer, wilted cabbage leaves & core.
  • Step #2 Place cabbage in a large pot of boiling water & let simmer carefully for 10 mins.
  • Step #3 Remove & drain.
  • Step #4 carefully pull off 12 leaves & set aside.
  • Step #5 Finely chop the rest of the cabbage.
  • Step #6 Heat 1 T vegetable oil; add onions, pork, and ground beef.
  • Step #7 cook this until lightly browned.
  • Step #8 Drain off excess fat.
  • Step #9 Add the sliced cabbage, caraway seeds, salt, & pepper.
  • Step #10 Pour in the white wine.
  • Step #11 Cover & let simmer the mixture for 10 mins, stirring often.
  • Step #12 Grease an ovenproof dish with 1 t of vegetable oil; line the dish with half the cabbage leaves.
  • Step #13 Spoon in the meat mixture, cover with the rest of the cabbage leaves.
  • Step #14 Cut bacon strips in half and arrange on top.
  • Step #15 place this in preheated 350 degree F.
  • Step #16 oven; bake for approximately 45 mins.
