Step #2 Fry the sliced onions & whole garlic cloves in butter or oil until both are golden & the garlic is aromatic.
Step #3 Add the cubed meat & brown all over.
Step #4 THen add the prepared okra & fry carefully for a little while longer.
Step #5 Add the tomatoes, continue to cook for a few more mins, & cover with water in which you have diluted the tomato paste.
Step #6 Spice up this with salt & pepper, & stir well.
Step #7 Bring to a boil & let simmer over low heat/flame 1 1/2 hrs or more, until the meat & vegetables are very tender and the sauce is reduced, adding a little more water if necessary.
Step #8 Remove from heat, & add juice of one lemon.
Step #9 Stir & serve.
