Low Calorie Salsa Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 Egg white
  • Chocolate chips
  • 1/4 ts Salt
  • 1/2 ts Baking soda
  • 1/2 c Miniature semisweet
  • 1/2 c Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 c Margarine, softened
  • 1 c All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 c Packed brown sugar
  • 1 ts Vanilla

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Step #2 Mix sugars, vanilla, margarine, & egg white in large bowl.
  • Step #3 stir in the flour, baking soda, & salt.
  • Step #4 stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Step #5 Drop dough by rounded tspfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Step #6 Bake 8 to 10 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step #7 Cool slightly; remove this from cookie sheet.
  • Step #8 Cool on wire rack.
  • Step #9 1 cookie: 60 calories; 20 calories from fat; 2 gram fat; 0 mg cholesterol NOTES: These cookies are great.
  • Step #10 They are very sweet though.
  • Step #11 I've only used an egg white when I've made these.
  • Step #12 Also, the dough is kind of crumbly.
  • Step #13 I ended up kind of forming them with a spoon & my hands into little balls.
  • Step #14 My experience was that they only took about 8 mins to bake.
  • Step #15 I let them cool on the sheets for about 5 mins before easily moving them to cooling racks.
  • Step #16 The dough makes them look like they're not going to turn out, but I was pleasantly surprised the first time I made them.
  • Step #17 You won't be able to tell that they're low calorie & low fat.
