Low Cholesterol Marinara Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c Protein drink mix
  • 1 ts Baking soda
  • 1/4 c Water
  • 2 ts Cream of tartar
  • 2 tb Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1/2 c Heavy Cream
  • 1 lg Egg, separated

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat waffle iron.
  • Step #2 Whisk dry ingredients together in a medium bowl.
  • Step #3 Whisk yolk with cream, water & butter.
  • Step #4 Beat egg white until it just holds a 2-inch peak.
  • Step #5 Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients in a thin steady stream while carefully mixing with a rubber spatula; be careful not to add liquid faster than you can incorporate it.
  • Step #6 Toward end of mixing, use a folding motion to incorporate ingredients; carefully fold egg white into batter.
  • Step #7 Spread appropriate amount of batter onto waffle iron.
  • Step #8 Following manufacturer's instructions, cook waffle until golden brown, 2 to 5 mins.
  • Step #9 Serve as soon as possible.
  • Step #10 (You can keep waffles warm on a wire rack in a 200-degree oven for up to 5 mins.
  • Step #11 ) Makes 3 to 4 waffles.
