Step #1 In a saucepan, fry the garlic carefully in the oil until golden brown.
Step #2 Add the tomato sauce & water, & let cook for 10 mins.
Step #3 Add beans, stir carefully, continue to cook on simmer.
Step #4 Cook ditalini or elbow macaroni al dente, drain & add to bean mixture.
Step #5 Stir carefully.
Step #6 If it gets too thick, add a little more water.
Step #7 Add parsley.
Step #8 Serve as soon as possible, or else the pasta will absorb all the liquid.
Step #9 This is so good that I would double the recipe, because it is delicious when Sprinkle topd with grated cheese, with Italian bread dipped in the sauce.
Step #10 Some people love it cold the next day, or you can add a little water & warm it up.

Step #12 VARIATIONS: Omit the can of tomato sauce & it becomes a "white sauce" utilizing the white bean juice.
Step #13 Pasta e Fagioli is great with a Sprinkle top of crushed, dried hot pepper flakes.
