Mandarin Chow Mein Recipe

Ingredients
  • 6 tb Water
  • 1/8 c Soy sauce
  • 1/2 c Catsup
  • 1 1/2 c Cornstarch
  • 1/4 c Water
  • 3 Eggs
  • 20 Chicken wings
  • 1/2 c Slivered almonds, walnuts
  • Cooking oil
  • 1 c Sugar
  • 3/4 c Vinegar
  • 1/8 ts Garlic salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Cut wings at first joint & discard the tips.
  • Step #2 Wash & dry on paper towel & Sprinkle top lightly with garlic salt.
  • Step #3 Mix cornstarch, eggs & water, stirring to form a smooth batter.
  • Step #4 Dip wings in batter & deep fry in oil.
  • Step #5 LEt sit while making sauce.
  • Step #6 Sweet & sour sauce: select a pan in which all wings can be coated evenly, such as a large electric fry pan.
  • Step #7 mix sugar, vinegar, catsup & bring to a boil, soy sauce, water, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #8 As sauce begins to thicken, add wings & cook on medium heat.
  • Step #9 Turn wings carefully to coat thoroughly with sauce.
  • Step #10 Garnish with nuts, if desired.
  • Step #11 Grated sesame adds a good flavor.
  • Step #12 When scaling down for 15 wings, make the full sauce recipe & only scale the batter part.
