Mandarin Cornish Hens Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 c Thinly sliced cabbage
  • 4 Cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 pk Quick-cooking Oriental noodles
  • 8 oz Sliced bamboo shoots , drained & rinsed
  • 2 Green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 tb Soy sauce
  • Into thin strips
  • 1/2 lb Lean boneless pork , cut
  • 4 ts Catsup
  • Nonstick spray coating
  • 1/4 ts Crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 c Coarsely shredded carrot
  • 1 ts Sugar
  • 1 tb Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 ts Oriental sesame oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook noodles in 4 c boiling water for 3 mins or just until tender, omitting flavor packets, if present.
  • Step #2 Drain & rinse noodles; set aside.
  • Step #3 For Sauce: In a small bowl mix soy sauce, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, catsup, & sesame oil; set aside.
  • Step #4 Spray a wok or large skillet with nonstick spray coating; heat.
  • Step #5 Add garlic and red pepper to hot wok or skillet; cook over med-heat/flame for 10 seconds.
  • Step #6 Add pork; stir-fry 1 min.
  • Step #7 Add cabbage, carrot, bamboo shoots, & onions.
  • Step #8 Stir-fry 2 to 3 mins more or until onions are crisp-tender & pork is no longer pink.
  • Step #9 Add noodles & sauce; heat through, about 1 min, stirring carefully to coat.
