Barbecue Sauce (chef Paul Prudhomme) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 tb Sugar
  • 1/8 ts Smoke flavoring
  • 1/2 ts Dry mustard
  • 12 oz Ketchup
  • 2 tb Cider vinegar
  • 1 tb Barbecue spice rub
  • 1/8 ts Garlic powder
  • 2 ts Worchestershire sauce
  • 2 tb Molasses
  • 1/8 ts Onion powder

Directions
  • Step #1 mix all ingredients well.
  • Step #2 place this in small saucepan & bring to a boil.
  • Step #3 Reducew heat & let simmer, uncovered for one hr.
  • Step #4 Variations: add cayenne pepper for hotter sauce.
  • Step #5 Increase liquid smoke for smokier sauce.
