Basil Jicama Fruit Salad Recipe

Ingredients
  • 6 dr Yellow food coloring
  • 1/2 c Water
  • 1 pk Liquid pectin
  • 3 1/2 c Sugar
  • 2 tb Fresh basil leaves; sliced
  • 1 1/2 c White grape juice

Directions
  • Step #1 Recipe by: Southern Living Preparation Time: 0:15 mix grape juice, water, sugar, sliced basil leaves, & food coloring in a large Dutch oven.
  • Step #2 Bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly; cook 1 min.
  • Step #3 Add pectin, & bring to a full rolling boil.
  • Step #4 Boil 1 min, stirring frequently.
  • Step #5 remove this from heat, & skim off foam with a metal spoon.
  • Step #6 Quickly pour hot jelly through a sieve into hot jars, leaving 1/4-inch headspace; wipe jar rims.
  • Step #7 Cover at once with metal lids, & screw on bands.
  • Step #8 Process in boiling-water bath 5 mins.
  • Step #9 Yield: 4 half pints.
