Ingredients
1 (.25 oz) package active dry yeast
1 tsp kosher salt
1 pinch white sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 c cottage cheese
1 tsp salt
2 tbsps white sugar
2 tsps dill seed
1 tbsp margarine, melted
1 tbsp margarine
2 1/4 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp dried minced onion
1/4 c warm water
1 egg
Directions
Step #1 Stir the yeast into the warm water, & add a pinch of sugar.
Step #2 Set aside to proof.
Step #3 In a large saucepan, warm the cottage cheese & margarine until the fat is melted.
Step #4 Remove from heat, dill seed, salt, onion flakes, & add sugar, & soda.
Step #5 Mix in egg & dissolved yeast.
Step #6 Stir in flour for a stiff dough.
Step #7 Place dough in a greased bowl, & turn several times to thoroughly coat.
Step #8 Let rise until double in size in a warm place, usually 50 to 60 mins.
Step #9 Stir the dough until it is deflated.
Step #10 Place into an 8 inch round, buttered 2 quart casserole.
Step #11 Let rise 30 to 40 mins in a warm place.
Step #12 Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 40 to 50 mins until golden brown.
Step #13 Brush top this with melted margarine.
Step #14 Sprinkle top lightly with salt.
