Martha Stewart's Oatmeal Toffee Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 ea Eggs, add one at a time
  • 3 1/2 c All purpose flour
  • 3 c Brown sugar; firmly packed
  • 1 c Granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 ts Salt
  • 2 c Unsalted butter
  • 2 ts Baking soda
  • 2 ts Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c Best quality chocolate chips

Directions
  • Step #1 Alexis Stewart developed this chocolate-chip cookie recipe for her mother, Martha, when she was twelve years old.
  • Step #2 Best enjoyed with a cold glass of milk, these flat buttery cookies mix perfect amounts of crunch & chewiness.
  • Step #3 Use an ice-cream scoop to make evenly sized cookies.
  • Step #4 If cookies harden before you have a chance to remove them from the baking sheet, return the sheet to the oven for a few seconds to soften the dough for easier removal.

  • Step #6 Heat oven to 375 B0.
  • Step #7 Cream butter until smooth; add sugars.
  • Step #8 Beat in eggs & vanilla.
  • Step #9 Sift together dry ingredients, & slowly beat into wet mixture.
  • Step #10 Fold in chocolate-chips.
  • Step #11 Chill dough until firm, at least 15 mins.

  • Step #13 Drop 2 to 3 tbsps chilled batter per cookie onto a well-greased baking sheets lined with baking mats or parchment; space batter about 2 inches apart for spreading.
  • Step #14 Bake 8 to 10 mins, until golden.
  • Step #15 remove this from baking sheets, & allow this to cool on baking racks.
