Meat & Cabbage Filling Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tb Butter
  • 1 Egg, well beaten
  • 1 c Tomato soup
  • Salt & pepper
  • 6 Cabbage leaves
  • 1 lb Beef, ground
  • 1 Lemon, juice of
  • 1/2 c Celery, sliced
  • 1 ts Parsley, minced
  • 1 ts Sugar
  • 1/3 c Rice, uncooked
  • 1 Onion, finely sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Spice up the hamburger well with salt & pepper & add the egg.
  • Step #2 Mix well.
  • Step #3 Mix in rice.
  • Step #4 To make sauce, melt the butter & add the tomato soup & an equal amount of water & add to onion.
  • Step #5 Add the parsley, sugar, lemon juice, salt & pepper, celery, & cook for 10 mins.
  • Step #6 Wash the cabbage leaves & boil until tender.
  • Step #7 Put 2 Tbsp of meat mixture in each leaf & roll tightly.
  • Step #8 Secure each roll with a toothpick.
  • Step #9 place this in a saucepan & pour the sauce over rolls.
  • Step #10 Cover pan tightly & cook slowly for 3 hrs.
  • Step #11 Serve very hot.
