Ingredients
1 c Powdered Sugar
2 tb sliced Orange Peel
1 ts Ground Cinnamon
1 lg Egg; Beaten With A Little Water For Glazing
1/2 ts Ground Nutmeg
1 c Honey
4 c Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
1/2 ts Ground Cloves
Coarse Sugar Crystals
2 ts Baking Powder
20 Blanched Almonds
2 Extra Large Eggs
1/2 ts Ground Ginger
Directions
Step #1 Sift the flour, & baking powder together, spices, sugar, mixing well.
Step #2 Add the eggs, honey, & orange peel to make a soft dough.
Step #3 On a floured work surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thick.
Step #4 Cut into shapes with cookie cutters, & place on a lightly greased or non-stick cookie sheet, brushing each one with the egg wash glaze.
Step #5 Place 1/2 of an almond in the top center of each cookie & Sprinkle top with the sugar crystals.
Step #6 Bake in a preheated 350 Degree F.
Step #7 oven until done, about 15 mins.
Step #8 Cool on wire racks & store this in airtight tins.
