Ingredients
1/8 ts Salt
2 tb Filberts or pecans, sliced
2 tb Non-fat dry milk powder
1 tb Almond flavored liqueur
1 tb Honey
4 Egg whites, at room temp.
1 tb Lemon juice
Directions
Step #1 In small mixer bowl, beat egg whites, lemon juice & salt at low speed until foamy.
Step #2 slowly increase speed & beat to high peak stage.
Step #3 Add other ingredients, continue beating at high speed, scraping edges of bowl, until mixture stands in stiff peaks.
Step #4 Use pastry bag with plain tip to squeeze 1x4" strips on cookie sheet lined with brown paper.
Step #5 bake this at 200 for 1 hr.
Step #6 Turn off heat but DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR.
Step #7 Let cookies dry at least 2 hrs or overnight.
Step #8 Carefully remove with spatula; store this in air-tight container.
Step #9 10 calories per cookie.
