Ingredients
  • 1/8 ts Salt
  • 2 tb Filberts or pecans, sliced
  • 2 tb Non-fat dry milk powder
  • 1 tb Almond flavored liqueur
  • 1 tb Honey
  • 4 Egg whites, at room temp.
  • 1 tb Lemon juice

Directions
  • Step #1 In small mixer bowl, beat egg whites, lemon juice & salt at low speed until foamy.
  • Step #2 slowly increase speed & beat to high peak stage.
  • Step #3 Add other ingredients, continue beating at high speed, scraping edges of bowl, until mixture stands in stiff peaks.
  • Step #4 Use pastry bag with plain tip to squeeze 1x4" strips on cookie sheet lined with brown paper.
  • Step #5 bake this at 200 for 1 hr.
  • Step #6 Turn off heat but DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR.
  • Step #7 Let cookies dry at least 2 hrs or overnight.
  • Step #8 Carefully remove with spatula; store this in air-tight container.
  • Step #9 10 calories per cookie.
