Bavarian Veal Recipe

Ingredients
  • 9 tb Sugar
  • 1/2 c ;water, cold
  • 1 ts Vanilla
  • 2 pk Gelatin; unflavored
  • 1 1/2 c Milk; scalded
  • 1 tb Cornstarch
  • 2 ea Eggs; large, beaten
  • 1 c Ice cream; vanilla
  • 1 c Cream; heavy, whipped

Directions
  • Step #1 Sprinkle top gelatin over cold water to soften.
  • Step #2 Heat to dissolve gelatin completely.
  • Step #3 Mix together sugar & cornstarch.
  • Step #4 Add eggs; beat for 2 mins.
  • Step #5 Slowly add warm milk, beating constantly.
  • Step #6 pour this into a 1-quart saucepan.
  • Step #7 Cook over med-heat/flame until custard coats a spoon.
  • Step #8 Add gelatin & ice cream while custard is hot.
  • Step #9 Cool until slightly thickened.
  • Step #10 Add vanilla.
  • Step #11 Fold in whipped cream.
  • Step #12 pour this into a 1-quart mold.
  • Step #13 Chill until set.
  • Step #14 Unmold carefully & serve this with a garnish of fresh fruits.
