Beans & Tvp Burritos Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/3 c Sweet pepper flakes
  • 2 tb Chili powder
  • 2 tb Salt
  • 1/2 c Water
  • 4 lb Bulk pork sausage
  • 1/2 c Flour -- unsifted
  • 105 oz Tomatoes --
  • 108 oz Kidney beans --
  • 1 c Instant minced onion
  • 1/8 ts Garlic powder

Directions
  • Step #1 A No.
  • Step #2 10 can is the equivalent of 7 (16-oz) cans of kidney beans or 4 (28-oz) cans.
  • Step #3 Line four 8x8-inch baking pans with heat-resistant freezer wrap.
  • Step #4 Allow enough extra wrap to fold over top.
  • Step #5 Use one pan for each six servings or one-fourth of the recipe.
  • Step #6 Do not line pans for food to be served without freezing.
  • Step #7 Crumble sausage; brown with onion & pepper flakes.
  • Step #8 Drain off fat.
  • Step #9 Add beans, salt, tomatoes, chili powder, & garlic powder.
  • Step #10 Mix flour & water until smooth.
  • Step #11 stir in theto sausage mixture.
  • Step #12 Simmer about 30 mins or until thickened, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #13 TO serve this withOUT FREEZING: Serve hot mixture over cooked rice.
  • Step #14 TO FREEZE: Pour each part to be frozen into a baking pan.
  • Step #15 Pack food tightly to avoid air pockets.
  • Step #16 Cool for 30 mins at room temperature.
  • Step #17 Complete wrapping by pulling paper up over top of food.
  • Step #18 Put edges of wrap together & fold several times so paper lies directly on top of food.
  • Step #19 Fold ends of freezer wrap over the top and seal with freezer tape.
  • Step #20 Label with name of food, date of freezing, & last date the food should be used for best eating quality (about 4 months).
  • Step #21 Freeze as soon as possible for 10 to 12 hrs before removing packages from the pans.
  • Step #22 TO HEAT FROZEN FOOD: preheat your trusty oven to 400B0 F.

  • Step #24 Remove freezer wrap.
  • Step #25 Place food in baking pan.
  • Step #26 Heat 1 1/2 hrs or until mixture is bubbly at edges & center is hot.
  • Step #27 Serve over cooked rice.

  • Step #29 NOTES : This recipe is for 24 servings (about 1 c each).
