Beef Gulyas Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tb Paprika
  • 1/4 c Tomato paste
  • 1 cn sauerkraut
  • 1 md Onion,sliced
  • 1 cn Beer
  • 1 lb Beef stew meat, cut into
  • 1/4 ts Pepper
  • 2 tb Snipped parsley
  • 3/4 c Water
  • 1/4 ts Caraway seed
  • 2 ts Cooking oil
  • 1" cubes
  • 3 Potatoes
  • 1/4 ts Salt

Directions
  • Step #1 In a Dutch oven cook meat & onion in hot oil until meat is brown.
  • Step #2 Add the beer,paprika,tomato paste,salt,water,caraway seed and pepper.
  • Step #3 Cover;simmer 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hrs.
  • Step #4 Meanwhile, cut potatoes into 1" pieces.
  • Step #5 Add potatoes,UNDRAINED sauerkraut, & parsley to skillet.
  • Step #6 Cook,covered,about 20 mins or until vegetables are tender.
  • Step #7 Cook,uncovered,10 mins more or until mixture is thickened & most of the liquid is evaporated.
  • Step #8 Serves 4.
