Beef Stew #1 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 6 ea Carrots cut in half
  • 2 ea Cloves minced garlic
  • 2 ea Cubes beef bouillon
  • 2 ea Stalks celery
  • 1/4 c Flour
  • 1 ea Medium sliced onion
  • 2 tb Parsley
  • 3 c Water
  • 1/4 c Butter
  • 1/8 ts Ground thyme
  • 1 c Red Wine
  • 1 1/2 ts Salt
  • 3 lb Cubed stew beef
  • 1/2 ts Pepper
  • 1 cn Tomato
  • 6 ea Potato
  • 10 ea Small pearl onion

Directions
  • Step #1 Lightly salt & pepper beef cubes & coat with flour.
  • Step #2 In hot skillet, saute' with butter floured beef cubes until lightly browned.
  • Step #3 In a heavy pot saute' onions until clear.
  • Step #4 Add meat, bouillon,3 c water , & parsley, garlic, thyme, can of whole tomatoes, salt & pepper.
  • Step #5 Add 1 c of red wine if available.
  • Step #6 Cover, simmer 1 1/2 hrs.
  • Step #7 Then add carrots, celery, potatoes & small onions.
  • Step #8 Cook until tender, about 1 hr.
  • Step #9 Quantity for standard serving size.
