Beef Vegetable & Barley Soup Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 ts Cinnamon
  • 2 tb Oil
  • Pastry for 2 double-crust
  • 6 x Or 7 medium potatoes
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/4 ts Garlic salt
  • 9-inch pies
  • 1/4 ts Allspice
  • 1 1/2 lb Medium ground beef
  • 1 lg Onion, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 COMMENTS: The large quantity of potatoes & modest amount of Spice upning seems to reduce the beef flavor.
  • Step #2 We vote for a little less potato & an extra pinch of spice.
  • Step #3 Boil potatoes & mash coarsely.
  • Step #4 Heat oil in large, heavy duty frying pan & brown beef & onion.
  • Step #5 stir in the potatoes, cinnamon, allspice, garlic salt, salt & pepper.
  • Step #6 preheat your trusty oven to 400'F.

  • Step #8 Line two 9-inch pie pans with pastry.
  • Step #9 Using slotted spoon, fill pans with meat mixture.
  • Step #10 Cover with top crusts, cutting vents so steam can escape.
  • Step #11 Bake= in preheated oven for 45 mins or until golden-brown.
  • Step #12 Makes two tourti=8Ares.
