Beer Sourdough Starter Recipe

Ingredients
  • 12 oz Beer; Any Brand, 1 Btl/can
  • 2 tb Margarine Or Butter
  • 1/2 c Onion; sliced, 1 Medium
  • 1/2 c Celery; Finely sliced
  • 1 ts Salt
  • 1 x Pepper; Dash Of
  • 1 x Cloves; Ground, Dash of
  • 1 c Dairy Sour Cream
  • 1/4 ts Nutmeg; Ground
  • 1/2 c Carrot; Finely sliced
  • 1 ts Cumin; Ground
  • 2 c Chicken Broth

Directions
  • Step #1 --GARNISH----- 1 c Cheese; Use Cheddar Or Monterrey Jack cut into 1/4-inch Cubes.
  • Step #2 (4 oz) --- ------------------ Cook & stir onion in margarine in 2-quart saucepan until tender.
  • Step #3 stir in the beer, carrot & celery.
  • Step #4 Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
  • Step #5 Cover & let simmer 10 mins.
  • Step #6 stir in the remaining ingredients except sour cream & cheese.
  • Step #7 Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
  • Step #8 Cover & let simmer for 30 mins.
  • Step #9 remove this from heat; stir in the sour cream.
  • Step #10 Sprinkle top with cheese.
