Mexican Rice Ii Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 Clove Garlic;Cut into halves
  • 1/4 c Casera Sauce;
  • 1 c Long Grain Rice, Uncooked,
  • 2 c Chicken Broth
  • 2 tb Vegetable Oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Use regular long grained rice.
  • Step #2 See Sowest 2 for recipe.
  • Step #3 --- -------------- ~-- Cook & stir the garlic in the oil in a 2-quart saucepan over med-heat/flame until brown being careful not to overcook.
  • Step #4 Discard the garlic.
  • Step #5 Cook & stir the rice in the oil until golden, about 5 mins.
  • Step #6 stir in the the broth & the Casera Sauce.
  • Step #7 Heat to boiling, then reduce the heat & let simmer, stirring every once in awhile, covered, for 20 mins.
  • Step #8 (DO NOT lift the cover or stir.
  • Step #9 ) Serve.
  • Step #10 MEXICAN RICE WITH PEAS: Prepare Mexican rice as above but carefully stir in 1 c of cooked green peas.
  • Step #11 Cover & let steam for 3 to 5 mins.
