Microwave Hot Air Nfa Popcorn. T Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 ts lemon juice
  • 1 3/4 c sugar
  • 1 tb powdered pectin
  • 1 1/2 c grape juice

Directions
  • Step #1 mix grape juice, lemon juice & pectin in a three-quart microwave-safe bowl.
  • Step #2 Cover with plastic wrap or waxed paper and bring to a boil in the microwave oven on high setting (about 5 mins).
  • Step #3 remove this from oven & add sugar.
  • Step #4 Stir until sugar dissolves, then return to oven.
  • Step #5 Bring mixture to a boil on high setting (about 4 mins).
  • Step #6 remove this from the oven & stir.
  • Step #7 Return the uncovered mixture to the oven & cook this until jelly sheets from a spoon (about 1 min).
  • Step #8 Skim foam: pour this into sterilized jars.
  • Step #9 Adjust caps.
  • Step #10 Yield: about 2 half-pints (480 mL).

  • Step #12 Jelly must be boiling hot to achieve a seal when using vacuum lids & metal screw bands.
  • Step #13 Pour jelly into jar, holding ladle or kettle close to the top of the jar.
  • Step #14 This prevents air bubbles from forming.
  • Step #15 Quickly fill jar to within 1/8 inch (3mm) of the top.
  • Step #16 Wipe top & threads with a clean, damp cloth.
  • Step #17 Put hot lid on with sealing comlb next to jar.
  • Step #18 Screw band on evenly & tightly.
  • Step #19 Invert jar for a few seconds so hot jelly can destroy any mold or yeast which may have settled on the lid.
  • Step #20 Cool, test for seal, remove bands & store.
  • Step #21 Or: Jelly glasses are filled in a manner similar to jars, except a 1/2 inch head space (13mm) is left at the top.
  • Step #22 Then the jelly is as soon as possible covered with a 1/8 inch (3mm) layer of melted, but not smoking paraffin.
  • Step #23 A single, thin layer of paraffin holds a seal better than a thick layer.
  • Step #24 To insure a good seal, paraffin must touch all sides of the glass.
  • Step #25 Prick any air bubbles that appear on the paraffin.
  • Step #26 Bubbles cause holes to appear as the paraffin hardens, and an imperfect seal may result.
  • Step #27 Allow glasses to stand until paraffin hardens & then cover with metal lids.
  • Step #28 store this in a cool, dark, dry place.
  • Step #29 Make only one batch at a time.
