Microwave Tips - Lasagne Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 ts Browning sauce -- see
  • 1 cn Waterchestnuts -- drain,
  • 1 1/2 tb sliced onions
  • 8 3/4 oz Pineapple chunks in juice --
  • 2/3 c Water
  • 1 1/2 lb Pork shoulder -- cut in
  • 1 tb Soy sauce
  • 1/4 c Packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c Cider vinegar
  • 1 Tomato -- sliced
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1 Inch cubes
  • 1 Can
  • 3 tb Cornstarch
  • Inch strips

  • 1 Green bell pepper -- 1/2
  • Slice

Directions
  • Step #1 Browning sauce can be found in the condiments area of most grocery stores, but can be omitted if necessary.
  • Step #2 1.
  • Step #3 Use pork shoulder, pork butt or any cut you prefer.
  • Step #4 Cut pork into 1-inch cubes.
  • Step #5 place this in a 2-quart casserole; add the instant minced onions, soy sauce & browning sauce.

  • Step #7 Drain pineapple, reserving juice.
  • Step #8 Add the juice to the pork & stir this to mix.
  • Step #9 Cover and microwave at medium power for 25 mins, stirring once after 15 mins.

  • Step #11 mix together in a small bowl the 2/3 c water, brown sugar, vinegar, cornstarch & salt.
  • Step #12 Add this mixture along with the pineapple & waterchestnuts to the meat mixture.
  • Step #13 Cover and microwave at medium high for 15 mins, stir every 5 mins.
  • Step #14 Add the green pepper for the last 5 mins of cooking time.
  • Step #15 The mixture should be clear & thick by this time; if not, cook a min or two longer.
  • Step #16 4.
  • Step #17 carefully fold in the sliced tomatoes & let this stand, covered, for 10-15 mins before serving.
  • Step #18 Serve over rice or crisp noodles.
  • Step #19 Do not double this recipe, the cooking time would vary a lot.
